The simplest handrail solution and most space saving, simply

extending the upright or uprights to create a built-in handrail

solution to either a timber or metal ladder.



our timber extension handrail basically extends the ladder upright one other one or both sides, if on both sides then customer soul generally increase the width of their ladder to enable easier access 'through ' the ladder and onto your mezzanine, bed deck or high storage space.



an extension handrail doesn't protrude like our usual handrails so is more suited if space is tight and also great for if your ladder is using one of our vertical storage solutions whether a rolling ladder with vertical storage or storage hooks for a vertical ladder system.



timber extensions are created using the same timber as for our ladders, most popular being:

• walnut

• oak

• ash

• maple

• mild or brushed steel or aluminium



how do you want your ladder to work?



whilst our lean-to ladder is our simplest, all our ladders work with different bits of our ladder kit systems - you can add hooks, locating pins, wheels, handrails, routered treads, tread inlays and the list goes on, have a think about how to make the best use of your ladder or ask us for help in deciding.



easily stored away...



now this is one we struggle with slightly! we know you'll love your ladder and want to see it out in its new beautiful space...but...if space is an issue, it can easily be stored away as all our library or bookcase lean to ladders have a nice slim profile meaning they can fit into tight spaces.



adding cork...



we love cork here at make me, it's so tactile and has little environmental impact - we can add cork to the base of the ladder upright to help with slipping or marking to sensitive flooring and we can also add it where your ladder meets whatever it is you're trying to access, just let us know at point of order.
